The Tri-Cities Foodie Guide

A little foodie guide to some of my favourite spots around the Tri-Cities, from hidden gems to go-to comfort eats. If you’re looking for places that deliver on flavour, value, and heart, this list is for you 🍽️✨

Koshari Zooba

Family-owned and full of heart, this Egyptian restaurant is a true hidden gem. As the first Egyptian restaurant in the Greater Vancouver area, it brings something genuinely special to the local food scene. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you can really taste the care in every dish. The food is hearty, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying, with generous portions that make it excellent value. Whether it’s your first time trying Egyptian cuisine or a longtime favorite, this spot is absolutely worth a visit.

Elmo Baking Co

Honestly, one of my favourite places to grab a morning treat! Their regular pastries are always delicious, especially the ube croissant 🤤, and both their seasonal and regular cakes, like coconut ube and passionfruit hazelnut, are an absolute joy. Affordable, delightful, and perfect with your morning coffee, this bakery makes every day feel a little bit sweeter.

Royal Donair

I’ll admit, I’m a little late to this place, but WOW, it did not disappoint! The staff are friendly, the space feels bright and fun (hello, orange walls 🍊), and the donair is delicious. But the real showstopper? Their lamb shank plate! Truly next‑level comfort food that’s still super affordable.

La Boulangerie

I recently discovered this gem, and I think it deserves more hype than it gets! A family‑owned French bakery in the heart of PoCo, La Boulangerie is a cozy, charming spot to grab a coffee and a pastry. Their mango passionfruit pastry is sooo good. Light, fresh, and perfectly balanced. Can’t recommend it enough for a sweet pick‑me‑up!

The Lucky Fish Hotpot

I found this place completely by accident and what an amazing accident it was! The noodles were so delicious and the broth was incredibly tasty. Even the appetizers we tried were next level. The nicest surprise? The durian balls were shockingly good and a must‑try.

Raghu's Biryani Drive

This take‑out only Indian spot should seriously be on everyone’s list! The biryani is full of flavour with just the right amount of spice and the servings are generous. It’s tasty, satisfying, and offers great value for what you get.

Bambada

This seafood Korean spot is a hidden gem between Coquitlam and Port Moody, serving delicious food at fair prices. The portion sizes are generous and everything we tried was satisfying. The clam bibimbap was chef’s kiss and perfect for anyone craving fresh seafood with a Korean twist.

Fresh Bite Food

I feel like there aren’t enough sandwich places in the Tri‑Cities, and I’m so glad this one exists! The owners are amazing and so friendly, and their sandwiches are on another level. So flavourful, so filling, and so worth it for the price. A true hidden sandwich gem.

Sing Lobster

Part seafood wholesaler, part casual eatery, Sing Lobster is run by a self-styled “lobster guy” who clearly knows his stuff. Everything on the menu is so good, from their lobster rolls to the cheesy melts, but my personal favorite has to be the Patty “B” Melt, absolutely delicious!
